With a headline gig on 8 November at The Grace in London we thought it a good time to share this video for Annie Dressner’s For The Thrill Of It.
Released back in March 2025 we missed the chance to share at the time due to being on hiatus but not only is this a beautiful indiepop track – think Julianna Hatfield, Fiona Apple and Kathryn Williams (on backing vocals here) – it carries an important story about sexual harrassment.
Dressner bought together almost 50 women from across the music industry to record a new video for the track, and amplified that message further.
When sharing the video Annie Dressner wrote on social media, ‘I have felt silenced. I have felt angry. I have felt sad. I have felt ugly. I have felt shame. I have felt doubt. I have felt confused. I have felt sure. I have felt alone.
“Today my alternate music video for ‘For The Thrill Of It’ is out. Whilst I love the video of me dancing around a museum, the more that I spoke about the subject matter behind the song (sexual harassment), the less appropriate it felt; so I reached out to my network of women in music and we have made something powerful together.
“This video features 46 women in the music industry – with the aim of spreading awareness about the pervasive issue of sexual harassment and misogyny. My hope is to foster positive change by empowering women to feel safe in speaking out — as well as spreading awareness that there is an issue to those who are unaware. Part of the issue is that everyone knows there are issues but nothing is changing and excuses are made. To me, that is just not good enough. We need to do better – including actually making changes if you’ve been made aware of something you’ve done that falls under this and not do it over and over again.”
She went on to say, “Making this video has made me feel less alone and less afraid – so thank you to all the wonderful women who are in it. Really. THANK YOU! You’re making me feel braver and more secure in standing up for what I know is right. I no longer feel alone (which is also part of the problem).”
