Sunday Best

With gritty guitars, a bass-driven groove, stop-start loud-quiet flow with rolling vocal melody Sunday Best‘s latest single Margins is both a massive post-emo tune and a defiant statement of identity and resistance.

The band said of the track, “This is more than just another song for us. It’s a call from Sunday Best to all the members of marginalised communities to be proud of who they are in the face of overwhelming oppression.

“For us, Sunday Best is the band we always wanted to exist as young kids dying for POC and queer representation in the alternative scene. Over the course of playing shows we’ve been laughed at, yelled at, ignored and side-eyed, but also loved and embraced by our community, who want the same thing as us – a place to be free.”

‘Been playing this game called life on hard mode / And the people ahead won’t share their cheat codes / Wish it could all just be so simple / Nothing to say but “step back, reload’

Margins follows on from Dig Deep, (August 2025), Ghost (February 2025) and their incredible debut single released in August of 2024 – Past Tense. Each release finesses their sound while honing in on a different aspect: huge, heavy riffs; funk and groove; emotional hardcore.

Hardly surprising they’re picking up fans, and gaining a reputation as one of the most vital bands to emerge recently. They not only have devastatingly good tracks, but are known for their high-energy, unpredictable and intense live shows too.  Sunday Best are already the band missing from the scene when they were coming up.

Sunday Best said, “We, all of us, bring the colour to this world, our differences make us magic. In the current political climate, where certain forces want to un-ring the bell of diversity and inclusion, our message is clear – we refuse to be erased. We are here, and we will always be here – ’til you cross me out.”

Margins by Sunday Best is out now digitally.
