If their prolific output is anything to go by it seems the day job is doing anything but getting in the way for Leeds pop-punks Nervous Twitch.

With over a decade in business and a well deserved reputation for being hard-working and fiercely independent the band is a just a few weeks away from the release of their sixth album – The Day Job Gets In The Way. They’ve introduced us to this long-player with the release of a video for the title track – a stomping single in their signature sound.

They have their blend of fuzzy, slightly scuzzy, indiepop and punk down to a fine art, making cute of life’s frustrations lyrically. There will be few among us who haven’t either felt the day job encroach into our own time and energy, but – as they so often do – Nervous Twitch not only give us relatable observation of the quotidian but pair it with subtle commentary about the challenges of living a creative life in the modern age.

Wonderful layers for those that want to leaf through them, wrapped in catchy riffs and danceable rhythms for those just looking for a good time.

The album The Day Job Gets In The Way by Nervous Twitch is released on vinyl, CD and digital on 31 October 2025 on the Spinout Nuggets label.
